- Get the JavaCC book and a free copy of the PMD book- I was delighted to receive a copy of Tom’s JavaCC book– this is well worth the read, friends!
- Jython 2.2 Released- Yeesh, it looks like no one cared.
- Code Quality Assurance: What’s your strategy?- Judging by the copious amount of replies, it would seem that nobody has a strategy, man.

You’re not kidding about Jython 2.2 being under the radar. I just checked: Technorati had 73 hits on “Jython 2.2″ and Digg had only six diggs. Yow! It was a really bad time for Jython to go quiet, what with so many Java-oriented languages coming up (Groovy, JRuby, Scala, and so on) to provide alternatives, plus IronPython running well on .NET.
The thing I am curious about is why the long quiet period? Why did a community that was so alive at one point not result in developers coming forth to advance the language? Such a drastic drop off is rare (perhaps unprecedented) in OSS that I can recall.
